HUNTING SEASON OPENS IN VERSUS COUNTRY FRIDAY, AUGUST 1,
WITH THREE SERIES PREMIERES AND NEW SEASON DEBUTS
New York, NY (July 31, 2008) –VERSUS Country kicks off the start of hunting season on Friday, August 1, with the debut of three new series, news seasons of returning shows and encore episodes from fan favorite shows. New series including: TruckVault’s Xtreme Hunts, Winchester World of Whitetail with Larry Weishuhn and Realtree’s Monster Bucks; new seasons of returning series: Winchester Whitetail Revolution and The Bucks of Tecomate with Jeff Foxworthy and encore episodes from The Best and Worst of Tred Barta, Dangerous Game and The Huntley Way will all be part of the lineup celebrating the return of outdoor programming to primetime and the start of hunting season beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
New and returning VERSUS Country series include:
Realtree’s Monster Bulls- NEW SERIES - The country’s best elk hunters and guides showcase the drama of stalking bull elk in the rut and many of these hunts will take place during the early bugling season when bulls are at their theatrical best. Viewers will join expert hunters and learn from them as they take to the high country for close encounters with eye-popping bulls whose bugles make the aspens quake. This series will explore the essence of elk hunting and showcase the challenge of both the country and the quarry; it is about serious hunting and unforgettable moments in the shadow of monster bulls.
TruckVault’s Xtreme Hunts- NEW SERIES - Host and renowned hunter Mark Kayser is a real guy with a real life job, wife and kids; and he lives to hunt. No matter how extreme the conditions or how far the drive, Mark faces it all for the thrill of the pursuit. There are no high cost outfitters or luxury accommodations on this series. Bitter cold, deep snow and rough terrain are weekly guests on Truck Vault’s Xtreme Hunts as Mark takes viewers along on his quest to become the ultimate hunter.
Winchester World of Whitetail with Larry Weishuhn- NEW SERIES - Larry has made a life and a living from whitetail hunting in the top locations across the country, management work and toil and dangerous helicopter surveys. This will be an adventure hunting reality series with an ‘inside-the-life-of’ element, opening up the doors into Larry’s personal life; viewers will live vicariously through Larry as he preps for hunts. Viewers will also get the inside scoop on his rituals, strategies and tactics that contribute to successful hunts.
Hank Parker 3-D – NEW SERIES – In this all new series, Hank Parker, along with his two sons Hank Jr. and Billy “Catfish” Parker, travel across the United States and Canada in pursuit of Giant Whitetail Bucks.
The Best and Worst of Tred Barta – NEW SEASON – Tred is back, equipped with his signature long bow and homemade arrows for another season of wild adventures. This season is filled with second chances as Tred is put to the test and attempts to take everything from a Colorado bull to Montana toms with a long bow; as always, he does it the hard way and he doesn’t back down.
Winchester Whitetail Revolution – NEW SEASON – The all-star team of Mike Hanback, Larry Weishuhn, Mark Kayser, and Ron Spomer is back and better than ever. The new season of Winchester Whitetail Revolution brings viewers to places across the U.S. and will give expert tips on scouting, calling, rattling, decoying and driving techniques.
The Bucks of Tecomate with Jeff Foxworthy – NEW SEASON – The Bucks of Tecomate’s new season reveals some of the most magnificent whitetail ever seen; it’s all whitetail all the time and the bucks have only gotten bigger. This season takes place in Texas, Montana, Kansas and beyond as these hunters search for the ultimate trophy.
The Huntley Way – NEW SEASON – The new season follows the hunting adventures Hollywood actor Huntley Ritter. Huntley, a fan of the latest and greatest hunting gadgets on the market, continues to stalk big game throughout America and Canada.
Dangerous Game – NEW SEASON – This season picks up where last season left off as expert hunters take big chances and tremendous risks to capture elusive and dangerous game. A variety of hosts venture to capture some of the world’s largest game and this season features Kodiak bears in North America, white rhinos in Africa and much more.
VERSUS offers approximately 135 hours per month of true HD programming and was the first-ever distribution of outdoor HD programming on a national scale. The network has significantly increased its investment in HD hunting and fishing content and showcases its prime time, field sports programming, as well as its daytime and weekend hunting and fishing line up, seven days a week in crystal clear HD.
The field sports section of VERSUS on Demand highlights the network’s commitment to outdoor programming.
