    Anyone Tried FOBs?

Archery folks seem to be gadget-aholics, maybe more than gun-hunters. There always seems to be something new to try, followed by an army of believers, touting the benefits of said new gadget.

FOBs though, seem a little different. They seem much more than a passing fad, and testimonials keep popping up everywhere.

FOB stands for “Fletching Only Better”, I think. Basically you replace the standard fletchings on your arrow with this circular airfoil. The foil stabilizes your arrow during flight, and pops off as the arrow passes through your quarry.

Here is some info from the FOB website:

    Benefits of an Engineered Airfoil

    * Superior flight characteristics – Designed by archers
    * Installs in seconds – No glues, fletching tools, cleaning or scraping
    * Instantaneous rotational torque – Simple broadhead tuning
    * Consistent flight every time – Injection molded, highest quality
    materials and tools
    * Utmost arrow penetration, stability and retained energy (speed)
    * Faster the flight the better they fly
    * 70% less cross wind drift
    * No flight deformation – Reduced tail walk, wobble and chatter
    * Outlasts vanes 10 to 1 – Field replaceable rugged, durable
    and reusable
    * Saves money – Buy bare shafts (use nocks supplied with arrows)
