Thanks to the Northwoods Sporting Journal
Yesterday, network owner Steve Remington informed that I had been awarded a free subscription to the Northwoods Sporting Journal, compliments of John Ward, the National Sales Manager. I made it back to Maine this summer, the first time back in about 10 years. One of the first things that I did was stop and pick up a copy of The Northwoods Sporting Journal – I used to love that publication!
My friend Wayne Selfridge writes for the NWSJ. Some of you may have seen my guest appearance over at the Black Bear Blog. In that post I described my Maine experiences, and mentioned my (ex) wife’s family, and their camps. Well, Wayne was a regular at deer camp most years, and he and I shared a passion for what we were doing – hunting. Though most of the guests “hunted” to a degree, for many it was a social event. For Wayne and I though, we took it serious! Years later, Wayne and I touched base again, and he was kind enough to send me the only existing photo of my 1993 buck, killed at the camp in the Haynesville woods.
I am tickled pink to be receiving a subscription to this wonderful publication. maybe it will help keep the “homesick blues’ at bay, as well.
The Northwoods Sporting Journal does have some online content available. I encourage you to have a look over heah.
