Tumacacori Highlands Bill?
“Jim” posted this over on AZSJ.org
To all….Congressman Raul Grijalva has introduced a bill in Congress to declare the Tumacacori Highlands a Wilderness! You already know what a wilderrness designation means, now we may have one in Southern Arizona. One key element if this passes is to halt AZ G&F from entering to conduct surveys, do water projects for wildlife, etc.
To quote former AZ G&F Comissioner, Bill Berlat:
***************
I urge you and your group to do what it can to do a few things…..
1. Get the commission to bring this up and vote to oppose it.
2. Get the other sportsman’s groups in the state to do the same.
3. Get Shadegg and Renzi to oppose this. I am not sure how Rep. Giffords will go on this, but I have a hunch she will hang on to the rag tails of this slime.
4. Work Kyl on this as well. I think he owes us one after his action on the illegal bill.
5. Press the Governor as well.
6. Bring in the NRA, SCI and other national groups.
This is as much a non hunting issue as any we have seen of late. And unless I have read it wrong, this Sky Island Alliance is as green as a a group can get, and borders on the extreme. Believe me when I say that I think this is only step one to appease a bunch of extreme greens from Santa Cruz County.
**************
Please read the text below from the Sky Island Alliance and take action to stop passage of this bill!!!
Thanks,
Jim
